Local Business: Bay Wrap

Last weekend I had so much fun photographing sandwiches and espresso drinks at Bay Wrap up in Belfast, ME! Their food is amazing, and for those of us not in the Belfast area, they have a second location in Augusta. They use fresh ingredients to make gourmet-style wraps for carnivores and herbivores alike. My personal favorite is the To Thai For -- nothing beats their peanut sauce.

If you're interested in photos for your small or local business, contact me at elliehopkinsbrown@gmail.com. I'm around for the month of August, and love working to promote Maine's many awesome local businesses!

Senior: Patrick

Last Fall I did senior portraits for my brother Patrick, an incredibly talented musician who was just awarded an individual performance award for guitar at a large gathering of high school jazz bands from around the North East in NYC. Needless to say, everyone in my family is a bit proud. Here are some of his photos, in honor of him graduating from high school in just a few weeks!

Maternity: Sarah and Jason

At the end of March I had the wonderful opportunity to do maternity photos for Sarah and Jason and their little bun. They are both some of the kindest people you'll ever meet, and there's no doubt that their new addition will be completely adorable! We kept things interesting with the session by splitting locations between their home and Reid State Park. It was a cloudy day, but the lighting was still beautiful. Here are some of my favorites:

Although I'll be gone for two months this summer, I'll still be available this spring and August for any photo sessions. If you're interested in setting up a shoot, you can email me at elliehopkinsbrown@gmail.com.

Until next time,

The Cohens // Family Portraits

Here is the Cohen family! They are an adorable trio, which is pretty obvious from those smiles. We did a short & sweet shoot last week, and I was so happy to do some of my first family portraits outside of the many, many photographs I've taken of my own family.  With Christmas just two months away, now is a great time to get family pictures done for holiday cards! With this in mind, I'm offering three mini-sessions for family portraits at half the price of my usual family portrait package. The sessions will be first come, first serve, so e-mail me at elliehopkinsbrown@gmail.com to save your spot now!

Kendra & Ben // Wedding at Fort Popham

This past July I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Kendra and Ben, along with their family and close friends, all while enjoying a beautiful sunset at Fort Popham in Phippsburg, ME. It was a perfect day and a wonderful ceremony overlooking the Atlantic, but I'll let the pictures speak for themselves =).

The Bride wrote letters to her mom and dad for them to read before the ceremony. It was such a touching and heartfelt moment when they read the letters.

The past week has been full of editing! Tonight I'm working on shots I took of Hanna, my brother's girlfriend, for her senior portraits. She was looking for some simple head shots, nothing too fancy. Getting in front of a camera, especially one that is very close to your face (as mine was while taking these pictures), can be alarming for many people. However, once I told Hanna that she should look away from the camera and towards my brother, her face lit up. It was so sweet and she is a lovely girl!

It's simultaneously fun and frustrating to look at the same picture in both color and b&w. I find myself forever going back and forth over which one I think looks best, so instead of picking just one version to share with you, I decided to give you both!
